Why we love the snow!

In the first of a four-part series exploring different types of weather, Jenni Clarke outlines indoor and outdoor activities that will fuel children's fascination for snow. Don't worry if it is not the real thing – you can fake it!
Snow is a wonderful weather that in England is never guaranteed. It changes the landscape completely and instils in children (and adults if we are honest) with a sense of awe and excitement.
Playing with an unusual, and fairly scarce, resource helps to develop young children's thinking skills as they explore with all their senses and imagination.
Here are some ideas for playing with snow outdoors, indoors and even when you do not have the real thing.
